I love them but I haven't read that you have to rinse them before use. Perhaps the red warning label right on the filter sock will help us who don't normally read paper instructions. It foamed everywhere and clogged the air intake of the protein skimmer. Maybe the company really should flush them before selling the product. We all have expensive fish and I wonder what was in that huge amount of foam. Thank goodness all the fish seemed unaffected by the resulting foam.
