These are solid cables. They're well built, attractive, and loaded with just the right amount of catchphrase and snake oil to satisfy any audiophile still clinging to a rational plan. It will be difficult for the unreasonable audiophile to justify them because they are relatively cheap, don't come with many truly exotic components and materials, and because "Better Cables Dot Com" doesn't sound as appealing as the brand and model names associated with the product will be shipped at a cost of $3,000 per foot. Things that sound good on paper: They're made in the USA from domestic wire and imported connectors. Neutrik's gold pin connectors are familiar to anyone who has ever used XLR connections. No, the plugs are not rhodium plated. You're not surrounded by exotic handcrafted hardwoods or carbon fiber shells. They are not subjected to any cryogenic treatment. On the other hand, these are probably higher quality (or at least equivalent) connectors than those used in the studio to record music in the first place. The capacitance is 13 pF/ft. This is very small and extremely important for a passive damper, unity gain or low gain use. The wire is made of 99.999% pure copper with a silver coating. They consist of rigid nitrogen-filled insulation. I have no idea what that means, but like I said, it's important that moderately priced cables come with their rail sword price. Your cable feels solid and is wrapped in an attractive braided nylon sleeve (material not specified) that makes snagging and kinking unlikely. Cables from the examples that are much more expensive. Maybe even a cheaper cable will sound good too, but don't be embarrassed about showing off your system to your friends, which is really important when you're paying a fortune for a balanced connection.
