The medium fit is ideal for a 9 year old boy
Excellent quality. We have yet to test them but they seem very warm and durable. I bought the medium ones for my 9 year old son who is 78lbs and is of average height and they fit perfectly. He usually wears a medium or size 10. They are perfect in length and fit perfectly around the waist. They sit pretty high on the TRUE waist. I'll let you know as soon as it snows well IF the pants aren't keeping him dry and/or warm, but I'm sure they'll do the job just fine. Highly recommended.

- I bought these for my grandson who wears a size 8-10. They're so big that in a few years he'll be able to wear them...
