First I received the blue cable NOT the purple one I ordered. After that, the cable looks fine and works as expected. The "tracking" lights are fun and feel good - bright but don't personally bother me at night. The cable appears to be of good quality and fairly durable, definitely a bit thicker than the phone maker's standard cable.
