I have purchased this or a very similar product from PetCo. many years ago and was amazed at how durable it was. Since I have 5 litter boxes here for my "Brat Pack" I decided to buy a few more rather than carry one from place to place. Unfortunately my local PetCo no longer sells them and they are not available online from PetCo. I suspect they are "too well made" and there is a quicker turnaround/profit from selling cheap chrome and even cheaper plastic! If it were you I wouldn't even bother with plastic and spend money on chrome ones that bend and rust. I'm glad I found this and will probably buy a few more as they're getting harder and harder to find. It's worth the price! *** If you look at the photo of the "single" shovel, it is slightly pointed while the proposed "pair" is fully rounded. Either way, you get fully rounded blades. The one I had (and still have as mentioned above) was a bit pointed so I could clean the corners of the boxes. These rounded ones make it a real challenge and fight. Also, after a few months of use, two handles on the new ones began to loosen and one of them began to bend. The HDP spreader vane (also available under several other brands, but still fully rounded) therefore cannot compete with the world's best spreader vane. Excuse me. If I find one I'll let you know.
