EXCELLENT SECURE SHOULDER HARNESS (VELCRO)

These are my personal comments on this "non-choking pet shoulder strap” – it's not a collar at all). Your experiences and results may vary but after trying all the harnesses on the market this one is perfect for my small dog. Best thing that has happened to my dog and I since finding her at the shelter! The shoulder strap is great: easy to put on, easy to take off, no hard plastic snaps that are painful to open and close (arthritis fingers!), soft leather (matte or metallic, nice colors), no shedding of fur outside. Leather (which would otherwise stick to the fabric, mesh and ?!? other materials the harnesses are made of) and a large military-grade Velcro strip for attaching the harness that is pierced to allow a D-ring for the leash to pass through . Hooks, little metal paws (nice decor!) and the dog loves it - don't resist, don't struggle to put it on! There is no choking hazard, an important consideration, and adjustments are made to how tightly you attach the Velcro. Measure carefully in two places: 1. Around the back of the dog's chest where the legs meet the torso (in the "hand holes"); and 2. Just in front of the collarbones on the back of the dog's head. My small dog has a 14 inch neck and 20.5 inch chest; she weighs 16 kilos. I bought her a size 21" and she fits perfectly. Larger rather than smaller, but you might want to think about stretching the skin and how hard your dog might be trying to get away. In other words, use your judgment and your knowledge of your dog = a smaller size means tighter, a larger size means looser. On the first ride in the shoulder harness, my little dog was spooked by an idiot on the bike who was showing off and pulled her back hard - her shoulder harness pulled "She stands up short but without the full body jerks that other harnesses sometimes cause. My little companion is part Chihuahua, part Greyhound. Overall, she resembles a long-legged Chihuahua with the athleticism, speed, and leap of a greyhound. She is a sighthound and can pick up traffic off the road a good 1/4 mile away. The shoulder harness allows her to move freely and easily without risk of catching the Ha lt to lose or hurt her. To dress your dog up, lay him on the floor or on a table (he looks like the number 8) face down. Have your dog step into two holes, one paw in each hole, and then all you have to do is pull him up by placing the tail behind the dog's legs and the head end in front of the back of the head (there is no front or back of the head - they are identical); Join the two ends at the top of the pawl (tightly), but before attaching the Velcro, thread the D-ring through the slots at the bottom and top of the two ends where they overlap. (See product image.) The D-ring slot is quite long, as is the Velcro; can be adjusted loose or tight depending on how much overlap you need to attach the strap tightly. My dog's closure uses all Velcro; When she gets fat (!) we have a place for her to stretch out! You and your dog will love this shoulder leash; this will be a new experience for both of you and I sincerely hope it will be a good one! Happy dog walking!
