This case is for the New Nintendo 3DS, specifically the non-XL version released in September 2015 in the US. I paid €8.95 for the case. I found for the New 3DS in US market. It fits the console like a glove. Apparently the tight tolerances ensure it doesn't fall over accidentally. The hinge works well and doesn't interfere with the hinge of the 3DS screen. On mine I noticed that one of the hinges came out of the mold slightly deformed, but this is more of a visual than a mechanical defect; As I said, the loops work as intended. Gold anodized aluminum is both visually appealing and protective. It has a minimalist quality. The underlying plastic is on the harder end of the spectrum, which provides added protection from dents. Also, I had no scratches on the system from this plastic. As expected, this case adds some weight and bulk to the PDA, but not to the extent that it affects portability. I assume that the addition of volume can be interpreted as a negative by some. But if you want to protect your investment appropriately, you cannot avoid this concession. But even then, the compromise isn't onerous. All in all, the case was worth the price I paid. Highly recommended.
