As a teenager I wore a Raynaud. Now that I'm 61, love outdoor activities, and live in Wisconsin, colds and toe counting are a daily problem. I wore these gloves on a couple of long walks when I was in my late teens - under 20 and while my fingers didn't stay warm, they didn't get drop dead cold either. The fabric is softer and not stiff like many waterproof mittens, but hands stayed dry after handling wet snow. I would say these are very good mittens, especially for the price.
