Review on High Gain Antenna Tenda U12 AC1300 Dual-Band Wireless Wi-Fi πŸ“Ά USB 3.0 Adapter for PC and Mac with White Color Compatibility by Andy Kucrud

Works well, but with some quirks.

Tenda U12 AC1300 works as advertised, but with one caveat: in Windows 10, the normal Windows network application cannot access this device. Instead, you have to use the app that came with the Tenda U12, which from now on will take care of all the connections and management of your WiFi. That's fine, although I'd rather use my own Wi-Fi connection software on Windows, but this results in Wi-Fi not automatically reconnecting when I restart my computer. AC connection. It connects via USB 3.0, so know you're giving up one of your prized blue ports. An extension cord is included, but it's really thick and stiff and not very long. It's enough to get the U12 out from behind your computer, but don't expect to go upstairs with the cable they give you. It would be wise to invest in a longer USB 3.0 extension cable if you want to increase the head unit's resting height. The U12 does not have a retractable directional antenna that acts as a standalone antenna. The only interface on the device is the WPS button. Conclusion: This is a very good AC1300 WiFi USB adapter that should increase data transfer speeds if you have older networking hardware on your computer. Just make sure to turn off the built-in Wi-Fi connection on your PC before installing, and installation should be easy.
