Not the same quality and comfort as our previous pairs

We have been buying these shoes for 2 summers. Always great sandals that can resist water. This pair is very stiff in the back compared to previous pairs and immediately rubbed an open blister on my son's heel. Tried Moleskin, did not help. I'm trying to find a way to crack them without breaking my back. If we can't make them comfortable they have to go back because right now he can't wear them at all so he doesn't get blisters on both heels.
