Review on πŸ›οΈ Mahogany Bed Step with Storage by Powell Woodbury by Ernest Etienne

It's actually not that difficult to assemble

This is for my disabled wife who finds getting in and out of a high antique bed a challenge. I read the reviews - stupidly AFTER ordering the goods - and expected an assembly disaster. Not so. At first I had my worst assembly nightmares, like having to re-drill the brass safety rails because the pieces didn't fit together. One thing to note is that these furniture sets are not cut piece by piece. Parts are cut and finished, then rolled down the assembly line where they are wrapped and boxed for shipment. There are no warranties except for tool holders used to cut parts that fit and bespoke or custom made furniture. For that you need to correct. Also, you need to be careful to follow the instructions carefully. I made a small mistake in the parts orientation and when I discovered this I had to take the whole thing apart and reassemble it to fit. It was real pain, but it was a self-inflicted wound. The pin and screw assembly is very strong and rigid. The pins orient the parts and give them strength while the screws hold them together. I have no complaints and at 190 pounds I found it stable and firm. I am 76 years old and I did not find it very difficult. I spend all day with computers, not furniture, so I came to this project - about 2 hours - without much skill.
