I followed the directions on the packaging, rinsed the leaves and placed them in the aquarium until they drowned. Well, everything was fine for the first day or so, but then I noticed small white worms on the glass of the aquarium and several larger worms that were swimming and moving freely in the water. I've done several water changes and a thorough tank cleaning since then and they were still there. This led me to believe they came from the leaves themselves. Therefore, I recommend boiling the leaves before putting them in the aquarium so that this does not happen to you. I was. happy with the leaves themselves but not happy with their behavior in my aquarium. They populated the aquarium with 1-2 mm white worms, which are very difficult to get rid of. I wish they would either tell us to cook them instead of rinsing them or list that some other creatures might be attached to the leaves.
