Instillation took just a bit, had to figure out a few things but went in nicely. I had to play around with the very flimsy and cheap remote to get the batteries to work but it came to life eventually. The main reason for the poor review is this thing will randomly start beeping for no reason. It has a safety feature where it will beep to warn you it is too hot, something like 120 degrees. Problem is, I have it in a spot that never gets warm, let alone hot. It beeps when the fireplace is off and the unit is cold to the touch. Which either means the safety mechanism is faulty and there is no way to turn it off or the internal electronics are overheating. Not happy either way. It is not relaxing to have a fireplace that will just start beeping nonstop randomly. Read this in other reviews that mentioned beeping and thought I would take a chance. Bad call.Update: Returned for new unit hoping this was a defect and had the exact same issue. Random constant beeping even when the fireplace is off and the unit is cold to the touch. I am returning the second unit for a refund today.
