Review on 🔋 Hands-Free Hamilton Beach Walk 'n Cut Can Opener - Cordless, Rechargeable, Black 76501G by Jonathan Arroyo

I bought this can opener despite reading some reviews about how difficult it was to push the lever down to activate the can opener. This can opener was purchased to replace one that lasted 10 years and is no longer made. I had high hopes that since I don't have any problems with my hands, I could use this can opener with ease. Well I was wrong. I couldn't use it until my husband modified the cutting blade. The blade appears to be positioned too close to the gear that rotates the can opener or can. So when the lever is pressed to engage the blade, it hits the rim of the can instead of falling on the lid of the can. My husband removed the linkage, which can be removed for cleaning, and ground the inside of the blade tip at an angle so it would slide easily over the rim. This made the can opener easy to snap into place and after many uses proved to be a good product. I hope it lasts as long as our previous battery. One would think that after many negative reviews about this can opener, the manufacturer would solve this problem. I gave this can opener 4 stars because it was very affordable for me and works well after this small modification.
