I use this thermos every day to send two children to daycare with hot food for lunch or breakfast. When shipping breakfast items, I don't even bother to heat the outer shell with hot water and it manages to keep food warm for up to an hour between cooking and eating. I confirmed to the kindergarten teachers that lunch was still warm by preheating the container with hot water and that the time difference was 3-4 hours. The only negative experience I have had with this thermos is the following: 1) One of my children broke his wife's leg when she dropped a full thermos from the high chair. This product is clearly built to last and you should consider wearing steel toe boots if you plan to give the product to a child who is in an elevated position and does not have full motor skills. 2) My kids managed to crack the buttons on the handle. plastic insert. I've fixed the problem twice with super glue with no problem, and in case I couldn't find the tongue I was able to order new plastic inserts for $5 each. 3) The kindergarten lost one of my thermos flasks and I had to order a new one.
