Review on 🎨 Graco FFLP310 Reversible Pressure Airless Sprayer by Darryel Tokarczyk

Not as good as HVLP but much easier

I used to use the well-known Harbor Freight magenta HVLP gun for cabinet work. This produced great results, but it was incredibly difficult to set up and fill the compressor, mix the paint, and adjust the spray gun. 30-45 minutes before you start painting, clean thoroughly and then repeat several coats. Then I read about these new Graco FFLP tips and having previously worked with an airless sprayer I was amazed at the relative ease of use. The tip does its job very well. Much better than a regular tip but still a lot of overspray compared to HVLC. However, I didn't have to thin the paint (although I always add a little Floetrol) and I can start painting in ten minutes or less. It also puts on a lot more paint than HVLP and you have to paint over 50%. If you get it right, you should be able to do it without multiple coats and loops between coats. The third time I painted it was a high humidity day and I had major blocking issues due to the thickness of the paint, but I have to say I never experienced sagging. While it's not as good as HVLP, the overall experience from setup to cleaning is still way better than HVLP and I'll stick with these tips and airless.
