Review on DTECH 10ft USB 2.0 to RS232 DB9 Serial Port Adapter Cable with FTDI Chipset - Compatible with Windows 10, 8, 7, Mac, Linux by Tina Brooks

I needed to update the firmware in my ham radio transceiver. I tried using the cable and interface provided by the radio manufacturer but it was unable to communicate with the radio. My computer doesn't have an RS-232 port (there are few), so I had to find a compatible USB 9-in serial port. This one did the job and was easy to set up. The processing of the cable is excellent, and the LEDs in the 9-pin connector are somewhat usable, but not absolutely necessary for my purposes. The only problem was that the 9 pin connector is a male and I had to have a female connector. Luckily, I had a compatible gender reassignment cable on hand. I bought a 4 meter cable. I wish they would make a 6 foot version but I could get by with the 4 foot version. Other lengths available are too long. Conclusion: Great, durable cable. highlighted.
