Works perfectly if you make sure your car is compatible.

Get to know your car first! The use of this remote control depends on your vehicle. In fact, verifying compatibility with your personal vehicle is not the seller's responsibility and problems can sometimes arise. Most of the 1 star ratings you see for this remote are due to buyers not doing their due diligence and not checking their car. My remote even came with a little card with a website where you can choose your car and check the directions. I think it was programyourremote.com so you should check there before you buy. Even to get a locksmith to program it for me the overall price was still great compared to some of the dealer solutions. So far, the battery is still good after a few months and can be replaced. The only thing that confuses me is that the case is sometimes difficult to open (I suppose that's a good thing because the rubber gasket prevents water from getting onto the circuit board). I've found that sticking a butter knife in the notch and twisting it works best. A few things I found out: My car doesn't have an onboard system for connecting remote controls. I think it could also be because my key doesn't have a transponder. So I had to take it to a locksmith and knit it for $20. Not the seller's problem. You could probably hire the dealer to do this, but I wanted to assist the local locksmith. Also, it's probably cheaper. Just call and ask if they have the right equipment. However, not all car keys are the same: I called two and only one was able to match the style to my car. I was done in about 5 minutes. The same locksmith and internet search told me to check my VIN. Apparently my make and model VIN can start with 1, 2 or 3. On my car only a VIN that starts with 1 can be reprogrammed as 1 means the car was made for the US market. VINs starting with a different number appear to be destined for overseas markets such as Canada. When I lock my car with the key fob, the alarm system is activated. However, my key doesn't have a transponder so it doesn't deactivate until I start the car. It doesn't take long for the car to emit a soft "chime" when the alarm is active and the door is open. But if you lock your car with a key fob and your key doesn't have a transponder: try to remember to unlock it with the remote control. The alarm hasn't gone off yet, but it probably will if I'm ever late. This alarm problem is not related to the remote control but to the way the keys to my car are arranged. Overall, traveling this route was cheaper than buying from a dealer. But first you need to do some research on your machine.
