I was looking for a film scanner and after researching specialized scanners for $70-$140 I decided I choose this device. I figured that using much more powerful electronics in a modern cell phone and its 12 megapixel camera should give just as good, if not better, results. This device and its app are failing miserably! 1- The application does not automatically detect film edges. . Does not automatically adjust the backlight. Doesn't do any of the "smart" things you would expect. He just takes a picture. You need to adjust the scaling and crop the image manually. The result is much worse compared to a traditional flatbed scanner. 2- The mount looks like it's made out of cardboard. Fragile and probably worth less than a few bucks! Overall very dissatisfied and will be returning the product.
