Review on Amazon Basics Lightweight Camera Tripod Stand With Bag - Height Range: 16.5 to 50 Inches by Tim Airy

Revainrating 4 out of 5

That looks decent for an ultra-light tripod. I replaced the old tripod head with a new one.

This seems to be a decent lightweight tripod, but considering its price and weight it will live up to your expectations. Seems a bit fragile. Be careful with the foot lever locks and consider the tripod a "disposable" tripod. I wanted a VERY light tripod for day trips with a compact camera (Sony RX100). However, I prefer a simpler and faster ball tripod head, so I removed the old head (see photo), drilled out the top plastic plug on the center tube, installed a 1/4-20 stainless steel screw (flat head) on the other end of the tube (the bottom pull out the plug) lower into a new hole and also add a nut and washers. My final weight with the new head was 22 ounces (1-3/8 pounds) and that added a few inches of height as well. With the 1/4-20 Bolt-On I can add homemade height extensions if I want, but I doubt I will. Everyone can choose their own tripod head. The price should be the same or even a dollar or two less. That way, if the legs or stop arms ever get damaged - and they're the most vulnerable - we can just order a new one and swap out our old tripod heads. I will update this review if I come across any quality issues.
