One small change and this tripod is excellent

I have read other reviews which correctly point out how weak this tripod is when fully extended to its maximum height. Here's a tip to greatly improve stability: First, fully align each section of the leg; Then insert the section exactly 1 inch into the larger section and secure. You lose 3 inches in height (47 inches versus 50 inches), but the tripod is now very stable with little to no wobble. I am very happy with these tripods (I bought 4 of them). Excellent value for money, IMHO…

  • This is amazing

Suitable for easy use in complete tripods

This tripod from RevainBasics is great for standard conditions. Plastic is quite thin and pliable, while aluminum is very light. For basic use and good maintenance I'm sure this product will last a while. For me this is exactly what I needed. It's going to be in a couple of rooms and I really don't need a very expensive tripod. Personally, I am grateful for such an inexpensive option. This rating is based on the cost and functionality of the product. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking…

  • Not the best

Surprisingly light and good for certain occasions

First, I have a Gitzo tripod that costs many, many times more than I paid for this tripod. However, you cannot always take a heavy tripod/ball head with you on expeditions. I bought it to go rafting in the Grand Canyon. It's light, relatively durable (though not windy), and can handle my DSLR (Canon 7d) with a wide-angle lens. I only used it for astrophotography in the quiet evening hours. I took some great shots of the Milky Way that required a 30 second exposure. I was able to take some clear

Pros
  • Quality construction

This seems to be a decent lightweight tripod, but considering its price and weight it will live up to your expectations. Seems a bit fragile. Be careful with the foot lever locks and consider the tripod a "disposable" tripod. I wanted a VERY light tripod for day trips with a compact camera (Sony RX100). However, I prefer a simpler and faster ball tripod head, so I removed the old head (see photo), drilled out the top plastic plug on the center tube, installed a 1/4-20 stainless steel screw…

A good tripod if you want a damaged camera

This tripod was great at first but then it gradually stopped holding my camera. The tripod eventually lost control of holding my camera while shooting and tilted back, damaging the $250 lens I attached to the camera. This tripod is NOT recommended. Due to these issues I have emailed Amazon as requested in the item description and attached the necessary information. Then, 5 days later, I receive a reply email from Efrain S. stating that I did not provide the information that was actually in the…

never mind but not for full-frame cameras with large lenses

20170723 Ok. That's the best I can say about this little tripod. It has features that most often stand out as flaws. First, the strap is adjustable, but it allows for as little adjustment as if it were only fixed in length. Second, it has a quick release plate, but it doesn't attach easily to the camera and wobbles when mounted on a tripod. The overall effect is that the nozzle wobbles and is uncomfortable to use. A normal tripod mount would have been better. The tripod is very light but short.

Pros
  • Height-adjustable lightweight aluminum tripod; weighs just over a pound
Cons
  • Some errors
