So before I got this thing, I just plugged in my phone and put it in the cup holder. As a door panel driver, this quickly became a nuisance, I always had to plug in my phone and control the app with two hands (impossible while driving). In fact, I've spent money on phone cords that got damaged from sitting in a cup holder. I chose a phone holder. I used to have models with suction cups but they didn't work very well in my car because the window was huge and far away (2009 Honda Fit). I was wary of these AC vent clip mounts but decided to take a chance. I'm so glad I did! It is very durable and easy to adjust. Once I found a position I liked, it stayed in place and never fell off or put undue stress on the AC. I can even rotate it horizontally without adjusting the resistance. Automated phone grips save a convertible driver's life. I get in and out of my car all the time, so having one less step to secure and grab my phone is a much greater benefit than I thought it would be. I've seen some people say their auto captures are behaving strangely, but I've had it for over a month with no problems. It works every time and keeps my phone well charged. Just make sure you buy the right adapter and charging cable as this can take a long time. Overall very impressed. Going to get some more Christmas gifts this year
