I stain a lot of wood and have used many different brands, Saman was one I had not tried yet and decided to give it a try. First thing I immediately noticed after opening the bottle was the absolute horrid smell. I can’t even explain what it smells like but it’s awful. I don’t think I’ve ever used such a strong smelling stain. I put together some various pieces of scrap wood and poured some of the stain into a cup. This stuff is extremely thick and ridiculously foamy which makes it impossible to get into detailed parts such as engravings. It has exactly zero flow to it. Along with that it dries super fast so you basically have to wipe the goop that it is off immediately or you get ugly uneven spots. Besides that if you like to see the grain like I do, this isn’t the stain for you as it covers pretty much everything. I’d say it’s more like paint than anything else. Not a product I’ll be purchasing again for sure.
