After the wallpaper fell off I decided to cover our wall with this kit and three paint colors (coffee base, medium gray and dark chocolate.-brown). The roller was particularly helpful in creating a realistic wood grain pattern. We applied a base coat of coffee, then roughly applied a light and uneven coat of either gray or brown on top (alternating to create different slab tones) and then applied another accent color (brown on gray or vice versa). .You need to have some artistic skill with the mix as you can't just apply the roller blindly. Using it exceptionally quickly creates a repeating pattern that looks pretty fake. But if you change the paint coverage, use a roller at random to avoid repeating the pattern, and fill in with a little hand paint and a little texturing with a damp sponge, it's not that hard to achieve a fairly real wood look receive. The roller is really dirty. after a while, especially if you actually curl the paint. I found applying paint with a brush on a roller was more effective. I also washed it once or twice during the project. It was very easy to clean with water and a light brush. I haven't figured out how to use the smaller hand tool very successfully, but it came in handy in a few small spots where I couldn't fit a large roller. Overall very happy with this product and the result!
