I've always used Herm Sprenger spiked collars but haven't researched what different models or colors they are. When I finally got curious, I went to her website and saw this model I knew she would give me what I wanted. Namely: the ability to wear my (supervised) dogs a corrective collar without unnecessary noise and bulkiness. We do hikes and trails a lot and I usually switch to their leash, but I hate losing the corrective function that's sometimes needed when distractions crop up or when you need to get back on your heels quickly. This model literally fits and looks like a collar around my neck, but I don't lose the corrective power I had with the quick release chain models. I just went with black because it was cheaper than stainless steel but it looks a lot smoother and I'm glad I did! both put on and take off, but the buckle is really much better and less burdensome on the hands. Just make sure one of the plates is directly on her trachea to ensure even pressure on her neck during correction and make sure the collar is right on her neck. This allows the collar to function like a tool and create a positive training experience without causing potential harm to your pup. **I would definitely recommend watching instructional videos or consulting a dog trainer if this is your first time using a training/correction collar**
