I've visited several websites that map cell towers and your chances of getting a signal from them. Most of them said I got little or no signal from towers 41 miles outside of Philadelphia. They also told me which way to point the antenna. I took a chance and still bought this antenna based on the reviews. I installed it on the roof, grounded it properly, ran the wire to the TV, plugged it in, and every channel from these towers was crystal clear with no distortion. Now I have an advice for you. (Perhaps this is the reason for some of the negative reviews). If you want to use a splitter for multiple TVs, DO NOT FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS that come with the antenna. The power supply must be installed BETWEEN the antenna and the splitter and not on the TV as instructed in the instructions. I found this out after a bit of scratching my head thinking I had a bad cable, bad splitter, bad karma, thought I made a horrible mistake buying this, came up on multiple occasions the roof to unnecessarily realign the antenna and wondered why I had a crystal clear signal the night before when I tested it on a TV and the next day when I was done wiring the signal was Crap or no signal. Was it clouds? Then the lightbulb went out and viola. all is well. Crystal clear HD from the weakest channel. My old analog TV looks great too. (You need to buy a digital-to-analog adapter for this). Full disclosure: I live on a hill. I'm sure it helps.
