Good replacement for the old antenna

I had an old directional antenna. This worked great when all four local stations were in the northwest. Two have moved. One is not due north and the other is due east. I got this to test as an omnidirectional antenna. It works. Now I catch all four stations again. I found that it's not fully omnidirectional. I set it up so that the Northwest and North stations are great, but the East station is out of order in bad weather. I can turn it around and have one running all the time and the other…

Consistent good for accessories and consumables

There is a great video on You Tube so the installation went smoothly but we couldn't connect the antenna to the TV. I thought I would have to send it back. My husband just didn't give up. In short, check if the TV may be too old. The 2004 TV didn't work. The 2009 TV worked. Before using a splitter, make sure you have a signal and it's working. Make sure you select Air or Antenna before autoscan. I know it's elementary, but I don't go into the menu very often, so I'll have to learn a little if…

Excellent antenna!: Antennas

Replaced a very old directional antenna with a preamplifier. I live in the Northern Virginia area no more than 20 miles from many local stations but in a very low geographic area and receive about 17 local HD stations. I first connected the antenna to my existing cable using my old preamp I had installed in the attic next to the antenna to amplify the signal before splitting it between two TVs. I tested the HD-8008 this way before changing the preamp and received fewer channels than before so I

5 Star Antenna: Accessories and Consumables

about 60-65 miles from our capital city, but there are no hills in the south of La, so there is no problem with it. We had to mount it from the outside, we couldn't pick up some kind of metal plate at the bottom of our canopy in the attic, so we installed it on the front about 10 feet up (from the ground). On the first try, the program received 8 channels, tuned the antenna in one direction, and then in the other direction a couple of times to get better reception. After about 30 minutes of…

Works exceptionally well

I live north of Taos, New Mexico, where cell phone reception is as questionable as reception from a standard digital TV antenna. I was looking for something small that I could handle myself and get at least local ABC, NBC and CBS and a PBS station in the area. After checking locations in the antenna network for distance and orientation of the antenna, I stumbled upon lava on Revane. He stated it had a range of 160 miles in each direction. It arrived on time, was easy to assemble and even easier

Doesn't work!: TV antennas

Like many people I bought many items of exceptional and good quality until I bought and received this omnidirectional antenna so excited to finally be able to cut the cable from the cable company! After moving this antenna from the attic, from one side of the house to the other, from one end of the house to the other, placing it high and not very high, for more than 3 months, I have had very limited or no reception. From time to time I had fantastic reception on several channels, but it didn't…

That does not work!

Like many people, I bought many items of exceptional and good quality until I bought and received this omnidirectional antenna so excited I can finally cut the cable with the cable company! From time to time I had fantastic reception on several channels, but it didn't last long. Often not even

Works great, easy to install BUT READ MY ADVICE!

I've visited several websites that map cell towers and your chances of getting a signal from them. Most of them said I got little or no signal from towers 41 miles outside of Philadelphia. They also told me which way to point the antenna. I took a chance and still bought this antenna based on the reviews. I installed it on the roof, grounded it properly, ran the wire to the TV, plugged it in, and every channel from these towers was crystal clear with no distortion. Now I have an advice for you.

  • Easy to read control panel

  • New competitors are here

This antenna works better than expected. Can't recommend enough

We are so glad we have FREE HDTV. No more paying for cable or satellite TV. We used TVFool and other sites to check signal strength and directions and they didn't bode well, but we took a risk. Now we're getting signals that these sites are telling us not to do this! While it should be fine outdoors, we placed this antenna in the attic. Although it is stated that it is omnidirectional, we find differences depending on the placement. Maybe it's the direction or maybe it's interference - but we…
