Review on JETech Blue iPad Pro Case for 12.9 Inch (1st and 2nd Gen, 2015 and 2017), with Auto Wake/Sleep Feature by Jeff Prabhu

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Cover (housing) OK. Lasted 17 months, and then the change (and $15) started falling apart.

The leather sleeve for my iPad Pro 12.9 1st gen is worn out. I bought this case with a cover because of the many positive reviews. It's made of thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU), the case attachment is good, but the lid's magnetic attachment is of poor quality. The magnet is weak and can move inside, wobble and hold the iPad unsteadily. Easy switching, waking up the iPad and discharging. Also, the back of the lid is a millimeter or two longer and protrudes from the "snap side". The slightest unintentional touch/pressure triggers it and the iPad turns on (even in a briefcase), which is frustrating. The TPU material is matte and unfortunately blurry. Fingerprints look like grease streaks and the case feels disgustingly dirty; makes you want to clean/wash dirt off the case. The edge of the "case" (opposite the hinge) protrudes about 1/2mm out of the iPad and has sharp, pointed protrusions on the edge (oops) and almost all of the corners are very sharp (dangerous in places). I'll grind on sharp edges and ridges while my fingers hypnotically grab at them, causing a sort of ominously painful sensation of friction. The iPad Pro is a piece of perfection and I am saddened and ashamed to hide it in this poorly designed, non-functional case. .UPDATE: Downgrading my overall rating to MINUS 5 stars. If Revain ever applies a "recall/refund policy" for defective products (what am I kidding), this iPad case will be vying for the top spot.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
