Tired of using workshop/company supplied welding gloves. It seems that most shop/company supplied welding gloves have seen better days. Yes, they're great for short tasks, but they get annoying when the work and day drags on. Also, why does it seem like the last couple in the gang box is the only mismatched and abusive couple? (Besides, have you thought about cleaning any coats, helmets, and gloves? How many sweaty, rough hands have they used over the years?!) I prefer to buy some of my own tools anyway. and PPE. So I know how they were treated and how they were used in the work. Out of the box: I have big hands and long fingers, but not "chubby" hands or forearms. I chose an XL 18 inch length. (I was considering a 23" pair, but after measuring my arm + forearm, the 18" pair seemed like the right length for me.) The stitching feels solid and consistent throughout. The outer material feels durable and of consistently high quality. The padding is comfortable so the finger length (for me) is just right and the fingers don't feel folded or bulky. Not a complaint but an observation - the circumference of the glove at the palm/wrist is very roomy. Around. I like the idea that this spaciousness should allow the glove to slip easily over jacket sleeves and close almost to the elbow. (But to deal with the "roominess" I plan to sew a bungee cord on the outside of the glove near the inside of the wrist, away from a heat source to keep them from slipping off.) The gloves don't slip or slip when I put my hands to my sides and I doubt they'll fly away when you grab something. Overall, at this price point, I would buy them again for protection and savings. Long Term Use: If I remember I'll let you know how they work. Grabbing, heat fighting, etc.
