I plug in my coffee maker and kettle, my husbands morning station where he also needs to charge his phone. He also doesn't like bumping into the kitchen when it's dark, so it works great with a night light! You can put your smartphone on it while charging. Excellent! Now I can't use the control light on the stove, I felt it might be too bright and disturb our sleeping dog. It will not pull the entire unit out if you pull on either fork. Comes with two different length USB charging cables. I'm sold! I just hope it protects my units. Edit: 07/28/17 The thing makes a shrill sound. and if you're sensitive to high-frequency sounds, you'll notice it when you get close. It goes away when you plug the USB cable into your phone to charge it, but you can hear it again when you unplug it.
