I bought this aquarium for my two daughters ages 4 and 7 who wanted Glo fish. The original plan was to use two small tanks for each of their rooms, but it quickly became apparent that this was a much more economical option and also more likely to keep the fish happy and visually appealing. We liked the look of the Color Fusion compared to the Glo Kit due to the color change option. We left the aquarium without water for a couple of weeks, yesterday we finally filled it up, turned on the filter and heater, and today we brought home 6 GloFish. This works very well with GloFish for those who might be interested. After looking for tanks for a long time, I chose this kit because the reviews were positive, the price was what you get and the replies from support were reassuring that we would attend to any questions and needs after the purchase . care and they were. This tank comes with a pump and filter. It's quiet here, except for the movement of the water, which is actually quite relaxing. My understanding is that you need to change this on a monthly basis. It has a low setting and a high setting. - Heating. It's not adjustable but seems to hold the temperature well for our Tropical GloFish. - Color Fusion Light. It alternates between colors, you can press the button to stop on a color if you like. There is no off button. So if you want the light to turn off at night, you either have to unplug it or turn on the timer. So if you think you need 3 outlet holes, you should probably route those to a ground fault outlet, which we did. - Comes with several Color Fusion decorations and a really nice sea anemone decoration. - A net, a small bag of water purifier and a small Bag of fish food - A thermometer - we didn't have that, but the company really helped solve this problem. What you need to get: - You definitely need more decorations. Gravel is not included. I bought a total of 34 pounds of gravel, all black for the base, and then 2-2 pounds of colored Glo gravel and 2 small bags of gems. - More fish food and water conditioner - Gravel sucker - Aquarium backdrop. I used black Cricut vinyl. - FISH :) April 2019 EDIT: After about 9000 hours the lights stopped working. We leave the lights on for about 12-14 hours a day and turn them off at night. I'm trying to contact the company to find a replacement. I can't find what the lamp life should be, but other companies that sell similar lamps claim a 50,000 hour guarantee. I'll let you all know what I find out. After finding a few different contact emails with mixed replies, one of them sent me a replacement lamp. We have a new timer that is 8 hours a day. We left 5 flo and 5 fish in the aquarium. And the catfish loves the dark to go out and eat that seaweed, so the light settings
