Yes, I understand saying "Best shovel I've ever had" is a bit dramatic but when you're trying to scoop very lumpy clay because you do If you have a diabetic cat who uses a litter box often, it's important to have a good dustpan. I've had plastic bottles in the past and still have one, but once it comes out I'll be replacing it with these for a few important reasons. The last bullet I bought was metal and I thought it would solve the strength issue, but I was wrong. The basket part detached from the handle relatively quickly, either through cheap welding or the way I use it. Anyway, it didn't last as long as it should. This shovel is machined from a single piece of metal, meaning no welding is required to separate. It's not in the specs, but it will play a role over time. The bin is deep so nothing spills out the sides and the holes are big enough for unused stuff to fall through but small enough for nothing unwanted to get inside. Garbage can. It has a coating almost like Teflon, it's not the right material but it's very smooth which makes it almost non-stick. The handle has a rubber grip that makes it comfortable to use. The handle itself intentionally doesn't reach the basket, and the top two inches are such that no metal can pass through, so the top of the handle gives a little on first use, but not enough to cause any problems. This is a great shovel and I would buy it again and/or recommend it to a friend.
