Review on Comgrow Upgraded Replacement Aluminum Extruder by Donald Vargas

I bought this for my Ender 3 (also bought from Comgrow's Revain). I had serious problems with under-extrusion and followed various how-to videos that eventually ended with "Moving to an All Metal Extruder". When I took the stock extruder apart I found that the lever arm was cracked, so yeah that was my problem. This product arrived on time and is 'complete' - the included 'instructions' are a small card with a QR code. which will take you to a YouTube video. There's no real complaint. I installed it, it worked, I printed out the problematic design and was very happy with the result. I've printed this design many times, even though my standard extruder worked perfectly and was much better, so I'm very happy with it. But then I noticed a little "dusting" of the filament at the inlet of the extruder. It makes sense, doesn't it? The OEM extruder's plastic arm is carried on the suction port. Since the new metal, the filament wears out. This is a tiny amount though, and if I can keep the resulting "dust" from jamming anything then I may be fine. But the other problem here is that the inlet of this product will cause the filament to contact with the Z-axis auger. The inlet of the extruder has always been a bit tight, but in this new extruder, the filament is in contact. The usual mods that 3D printing offers only work because there is a small gap between the screw and the filament, which is no longer the case. Inlet. As long as it stays in place, it isolates the filament from the Z-axis screw; and can even prevent the filament from being shaved off when stepped on. I'm giving this place 4 stars for now. If my PTFE sleeve (or any other) does not work, I will decline my review.
