This mic stand was exactly what I was looking for but didn't know it until I found it. I mean this is advertised as a floor stand to place the mic next to a drum or something. I was looking for a stand that would sit on my desk to record video lectures. The most common recommendation for setting up this type of record is to use a barbell. I've used one of these but have never been happy with it because when fully undressed it reaches long enough to reach my mouth but when not in use is very unattractive. The crazy thing is that finding an attractive arrow is almost impossible. Even well-known brand models over 100β¬ are just as unattractive as the one I use. I finally found a really attractive dart, but it cost over $400. I really appreciate how good it looks, but there's no way I'm willing to spend that kind of money just for my rig to boom. for this product. It turned out to fit my needs and after getting it and setting it up I was right. This stand sits to my left and easily moves the mic where it needs to be without obstructing my line of location to my computer monitors. When not in use it's easy to put away, or if I decide to leave it on my desk it looks a lot better than the dart it replaces. Even more puzzling is why so many racks and arrows are so unattractive. This thing looks great and works! And at a very reasonable price! Pros: - The weighted base is heavy enough to keep it stable even when fully extended. - Knobs rotate easily for easy adjustment - All parts feel very solid - It has integrated cable management
