Review on Streamlined Running Backpack By FITLY For The Minimalist Athlete by Dave Wolf

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Nice minimalist pack for half marathons

I got this pack because I was looking for an alternative to running belts. This little pack has a lot of things going for it. It comes with a 17 oz bladder with a tube system. The middle back pocket easily held my phone, ID, and keys. The outer back pocket is also roomy. For my 17 mile run I added a five oz bladder (sold separately) that rode snugly in the right front pocket, my fuel in the left front pocket, and I added an 8.5 oz bladder (also sold separately) that fit nicely in the outer back pocket with some extra fuel. Once I got everything adjusted properly, the pack didn't move. The front pockets on the thoracic belt look small, but they stretch a lot. I was able to take things out and put them back without looking.Things in the back pockets aren't accessible unless you take the pack off, but it's hella easy to do, even while running. My only issue was that the hydration tube wouldn't stay snapped in the holder. My-ahem-"chest" kept pushing it out. I ended up tucking it under the strap and it was fine.I will definitely be using this for half marathons--much less bulky than a belt and it will hold everything I need it to hold.

Pros
  • Simplifies your running routine by keeping your essentials organized and easily accessible
Cons
  • The backpack might not fit correctly on people with a shorter torso
