A few months ago, I started looking for projectors on behalf of a customer, mainly testing portable and ultraportable devices. The deal breaker for each of them was text quality and fine lines. This is a projector that not only passed those tests, but impressed me in almost every other way. Considering the price, this is above a 5 star product. Buying Tips: DO NOT buy a projector that does not support 1080p resolution. The text is unreadable. Manual focus is important because it allows you to fine-tune the image. Keystone correction is almost as important when the surface or mount is not perfectly flat. Don't forget to consider your audio needs and the lighting in the room you will be using. Pros: The brightness is way better than I expected. It's not as visible in normal daylight as an LED HDTV, but it's good enough. It looks fantastic in a dimly lit room, and in a completely dark room it's incredibly illuminating to the point where you feel so much more awake and alert than using even the best LED, plasma or even OLED -View screen. If you have trouble sleeping, checking before bed is probably not a good idea due to the sheer amount of white/blue light. Keystone correction (tilting the image at an angle) isn't available on all projectors, but this one has it and it works. Excellent. Similarly, manual focus adjustment works the same way and is needed to adjust the clarity of text and images based on how far they are from the screen or wall. The sound sounds solid, gets louder, and can be adjusted or turned off altogether. The device's fan noise is not audible when using the internal speakers, but more on that later. The adjustment of the image size is not physically possible, but digitally in the settings menu. This is not a problem for anyone except in the rare case that you need to position the device very far away but the projected image is too large. It's best to physically move the projector closer to a wall or screen to shrink the image, but sometimes this isn't possible. Sounds obvious, but everyone should take this into account when measuring where to put the projector and where the image will be projected. If adjustments need to be made, this can be done via the X and Y scaling settings. A remote control (AAA batteries not included) is included to give you access to all projector functions. I didn't know it when I bought it, so I was very satisfied. In addition, the device comes with an HDMI adapter, VGA, power, composite jack, RCA jack to 3.5mm plug and a microfiber cloth for the lens. I wasn't expecting it either, but I was very pleasantly surprised when I received all of this. The connections are wonderful. There are 2 HDMI inputs, 3.5mm audio output, 3.5mm audio input, VGA input, composite video input and 2 USB ports. This is not typical for projectors in this price range. Cons: The noise from the device is absolutely noticeable, but you have to consider how loud you will actually hear it during normal use. I literally sat under the device during the test, but even with the internal speakers turned on, the noise became invisible. If you have external speakers, headphones, or sit far enough away from the projector, fan noise will be suppressed. Image sharpness tends to be slightly blurry around the edges and corners. I can't say for sure whether this is due to the device itself, as I wasn't able to test it with a professionally installed projector board. It's still worth noting as no wall or screen is perfectly flat and there are issues with image consistency. It's only fairly noticeable on small text, so it might not apply to you. Still, I've seen this problem on $500 projectors and even $1500 HDTVs due to backlight bleeding, tightened screws, etc. All in all: I've talked enough at this point. Just buy it. It will amaze you and your friends, coworkers, neighbors, other important people and even movie and tech snobs. For a few hundred euros that's no problem.
