It would take real creativity and time or wire cutting to take apart the ebrake cable housing on my Cavalier project. I first tested it on a stock rear axle I had and it worked great. By car. It took me quite a bit of penetrating oil and force to move the cable around a bit and I ended up using the large channel locks on the handle to fully disengage it. But the end result was that it worked, and I think my only option was to cut the cable. The tool paid for itself in one use without changing cables and worked faster because I didn't have to remove the drums.
