Advantages: Sharp. Waterproof. Cons: maintenance. I have to admit, I don't cut my hair, and if I do, it's bad. The rubber ring inside the handle ensures comfort. I washed it after using it and the water seems to recover when it does that. And drying is not bad. I don't really like the maintenance. Since I'm an ordinary person who cuts my hair and my children's hair, I don't want to oil them all the time. I understand that this helps stay sharper longer, but for me it's a little tiring - I find it difficult to keep kitchen knives sharp. Overall I'm pretty comfortable with using it. Think about the maintenance you'll need to do if you cut a lot, and luckily for me it's not too often.
