This cape was so cute I really really wanted to keep it but I had to send it back because it was so big. I'm 5ft 1in, under 110lbs and it looked like I would change into it. I thought it was so cute on my 5ft 4in daughter. I'm not at all sure if it's 100% cotton as it irons and feels like rayon. It also looks more like viscose, which I think is better suited for this type of stuff. You need to iron it as soon as it gets wet. The construction was solid - no protruding threads. I saw a comment about the fabric shining through the lace, and while it's true, it's at the bottom of each piece of lace, not the top. I don't know how they could do it at this price without showing the fabric. Because of the ruffles, this would have had to be hand cut and sewn a second time to avoid this. It didn't bother me at all. You could see about 1/4 inch of fabric. Again, I liked it, but it was too much for my small character.
