The product description is misleading but accurate. The size shown in the picture below (the distance from the bottom of the metal to the edge of the fully extended rubber) is practically irrelevant when trying to install the device on a door with an underlying threshold, because in order to erase the threshold , the rubber cannot protrude under the bottom of the door when folded, requiring installation of the fixture higher than if the metal were flush with the bottom of the door. For this application, the ejection distance from the tip of the flex when collapsed to the end of the flex when fully extended is a key measurement and is not specified. In fact, for my setup, the piston doesn't have enough travel for the rubber tip to even bottom out when the door is opened. This block only seems useful when installed on a door with no threshold.
