cabinet lighting? Probably no. But they are perfect for the pantry. The motion detector doesn't work very well. You must be very close. So if you put them in a closet, you'd probably have to wave your arms wildly next to it every time you want to look in your closet. If you're trying to skip caffeine, then by all means. But other than that, keep these things in small places. The magnetic stripe didn't stick to either surface, but the surface is slightly rough. I can fix it myself and it's not the product's fault. Keep this in mind for your own area. You may need to attach your own magnets to certain surfaces using screws or stronger glue. They charge pretty quickly. Maybe an hour each, so they came partially charged. The LED will change color from red to green to indicate full charge. It's good. It comes with a charging cable, but you need to use your own USB charger. Not so hot what's up. Who doesn't? They are light blue. Bright enough for small spaces but not closets. So it's probably good for under cabinets or under any pantry shelf. Here I use mine. I'll update the battery life if it sucks. But the first few days are good. How often do you actually go to your pantry? If it lasts a month or more, I'll be happy.
