Type of review

This is a fun game for kids who love Pete the Cat but it can also be used as learning materials for kids who love Pete. It can help kids lear their colors, counting, describing, as a reward for task completion, etc. It's been a lot of fun for the kids in my classroom. They love it. So, long story short: Great game, but can also be used in many other functional ways. Highly recommended! Amy

Pros
  • Cute game for toddlers, works on fine motor skills
Cons
  • The rules are confusing and poorly explained

TOO Hard, buy Sneaky Snacky instead

The quality of this game is great. The cardboard pieces are thick, the box is sturdy, the buttons are nice. But it’s just too hard and frustrating. Three of the nine options on the spinner are negative - either give a button to the player on your right, put one button back, or put ALL buttons back. This makes the game way too frustrating. I started playing this with my 4 and 5 year old and we quickly each had 2-3 of the 5 needed buttons, but for the next 15 minutes we kept spinning negative…

Pros
  • Nephew loves this game. Really fun for toddlers and good value. Came on time and as expected.
Cons
  • Poorly designed characters

Pete the Cat fun! for my opinion

My 4 yo loved her Pete the Cat books growing up, so what a fun little game that incorporates him. This is a simple enough game for toddlers to understand and enjoy, while working on shapes and colors. The Pete the Cat squeezer is a little uncomfortable and bulky to use, but overall it’s a cute little game.

Pros
  • Promotes teamwork, as players work together to help Pete find his missing buttons
Cons
  • The game lacks creativity and imagination

well thought out set

This set accompanies the story Pete The Cat and Groovy Buttons. This is a story I use each year within my preschool classroom. The game comes in a pretty sturdy cardboard box in the shape of Pete the Cat. The game pieces are thick with a little bit for fingers to grab or for those with more ability to use with tongs. The spinner is smooth with no sticking as you spin. The cards are thick. This is a fantastic learning game with preschoolers. My students even liked it over remote instruction.

Pros
  • My kids love these little games. It teacher colors and shapes and taking turns.
Cons
  • Limited replay value

Great game for Preschoolers

This is a fantastic toddler game! Our 3 year old is a HUGE Pete the Cat fan. The Groovy Buttons book is probably her favorite too. So this game was an obvious choice for her. Our 5 year old enjoys it as well and does not get bored with it.It is a 4 person (max) game. Each person gets a board that is shaped like Pete. Petes shirt has 4 button spaces, each a different shape. Each player takes a turn spinning the spinner. Based on where the spinner lands, the player uses the squeezer to pick up the

Pros
  • Provides an excellent way for young children to develop social skills, including communication, cooperation, and empathy
Cons
  • The game is not engaging and cannot hold players' interest

Fun for the family and helpful with correct grasp!

Great game for anyone over 3 years old! Really helps with learning to grasp and hold writing utensils correctly. Fun for the family if you are a Pete the cat lover!

Pros
  • Provides a fun and rewarding way to build confidence and self-esteem in young children
Cons
  • The game is not inclusive or diverse

Great educational game

Fun game for young kids to help them practice their fine motor skills and identifying shapes and learning to take turns and try to take steps to reach an objective! I thought this was might be a little too advanced for my almost 4-year-old but after playing a few rounds, he got the hang of it!

Pros
  • SPARK TOGETHERNESS! Let’s play – together! Educational Insights toys and games are designed to make the most of together time, helping kids learn to build positive relationships, work together, compromise and share, win and lose gracefully, and so much more
Cons
  • Too long for younger kids with shorter attention spans

Very cute and fun!: my feedback

I just gave this to my great-nephew, who loves Pete the Cat! He is 3 years old and is having a great time with this game! Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • HELP PETE MATCH HIS GROOVY SHAPED BUTTONS: Players spin and learn shapes, colors, and matching while building fine motor skills as they use the Pete the Cat squeezer to collect his lost buttons in various shapes
Cons
  • The game is too simplistic and doesn't foster critical thinking skills

fun game, button material could be better

This game is cute and fun for my preschoolers, the one flaw is the buttons are rubbery and for some reason this material is something kids are attracted to chewing on, they are quickly destroying the buttons which are small, like 1/2 and inch diameter. I wish they were bigger and made of hard plastic.

Pros
  • Perfect for parents or teachers looking to enrich the learning experience for young children
Cons
  • The game's quality does not match its price point

Great gift! on my review.

Bought for my three year old grandson. Haven’t got to play it with him but my daughter says he likes it a lot not to mention he loves Pete the cat books! The game is a bonus! The price is great too

Pros
  • 36 months - 6 years
Cons
  • The game is overly repetitive

Great for Preschoolers!

I bought this for my preschool classroom as a fun center to play with them. Easy for them to follow and play at 3 years old. That's my review.

Pros
  • 10.1 x 6.6 x 2.3 inches
Cons
  • The game rewards luck over skill

Kids love it best in my review

I use this with students in my classroom. They love Pete the Cat and are so excited to play a game with Pete the Cat. Highly recommend for preschool/kindergarten students.

Pros
  • Game is easy to play and my 3.5 yr old loves it. The large tweezers are easily used by kids.
Cons
  • Probably best for kids around 2 to 3 years old.

Perfect game for the family!

This game is perfect for our family. I'm sure it helped that they're both quite familiar with the Pete the Cat books, but they got into this game right from the start! My 6 year old picked up on the rules right away, and my 4 year old caught on not too long after. The materials are all very durable, and I really liked that the squeezer required some strength to use; definitely good for developing their fine motor skills. One last thing: my 4 year old is ultra-competitive, and every time she had…

Pros
  • Played with easy-to-move playing pieces
Cons
  • The game is not engaging enough to hold kids' attention for long periods of time

Another great game from Educational Insights….and I use them all. Check out any occupational or speech room and you will find many of their games on the shelves. My students request them over and over…….The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel game, Shelbys Snack Shack, Freida’s Fruit Fiesta and the most requested, Frankie’s Food Truck Fiasco.Pete the Cat is an excellent addition. The rules are simple but the educational benefits numerous. Children take turns and try and fill up their card with the five…

Pros
  • The game board is bright and colorful, encouraging visual learning
Cons
  • The game lacks innovative and imaginative game mechanics

Missing spinner board

My daughter just received this as a gift for her birthday and the spinner is missing? It’s brand new and the box was unopened

Pros
  • January 1, 2020
Cons
  • Confusing and complicated instructions

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Missing buttons - my new review

I got this as a present for my 3 year old. The game has an extra red square and is Missing a red heart. Is that how its supposed to be?

Pros
  • Toys & Games
Cons
  • The game board is flimsy and prone to wear and tear

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Not fun for us. for my opinion

Super basic game that is appropriate for ages 3-5. It’s random - anyone could win - and it reinforces shapes and colors.I personally did not find the game fun to play, and my kids ages 3 and 6, did not take to it, despite being Pete the Cat fans. Hard for me to recommend to anyone.

Pros
  • The game can be played in 15-20 minutes, making it ideal for shorter attention spans
Cons
  • Poorly designed and unappealing artwork
