The quality of this game is great. The cardboard pieces are thick, the box is sturdy, the buttons are nice. But it’s just too hard and frustrating. Three of the nine options on the spinner are negative - either give a button to the player on your right, put one button back, or put ALL buttons back. This makes the game way too frustrating. I started playing this with my 4 and 5 year old and we quickly each had 2-3 of the 5 needed buttons, but for the next 15 minutes we kept spinning negative results enough to keep emptying our Pete boards and staying somewhere between 0-3 buttons. My 4 year was finally lucky enough to finish the game and I begrudgingly tried one more round to see if the first was a fluke. It went very similarly with my kids being frustrated that they often would get up to 2-3 buttons then have to put them all back, over and over for a long 15 minutes. We also have The Sneaky Snacky Squirrel by this company. It’s very similar in working fine motor skills and a great quality, and it is not frustrating at all! Of the 10 spinner options for that game, only 2 are negative causing you to put acorns back. And my kids actually enjoy it. That one is SO MUCH BETTER! I would definitely avoid this Pete the Cat one!
