No matter what material it's made of, it's definitely not cotton. It is soft and comfortable but has an unpleasant chemical odor that lingers after the first wash. However, people who love the smell of a new car like it. I'm just particularly sensitive to chemical smells. I will continue washing and airing it and hope that the smell will dissipate over time.
