Install shower shelf EASY
I have installed Kerdi shower niches in the past and have always used the shelf that comes with it (a waste of space in my opinion). Using 2 of these metal shelves gave me back 4 inches of usable space in my 28 inch shower alcove. It took 2 seconds to sit in place and proceed with the tile. Highly recommended. Too bad they didn't offer more designs for the drain holes.
