I have charged my 2017 13" MacBook Pro (61W), Omni Charge power bank (45W) and iPhone XS Max (18W) each with standard cables and had no problems with them in general. This little charger is awesome. Yes, prolonged charging at the full 61W power the MacBook draws will heat up the device. But to be honest I don't think it heats up more than an apple block and it's sooooo much less It does NOT block any other connectors (horizontal or vertical) and works great without the special cable that comes with the kit.
