I bought my Vitamix back in 1994. I used it every day or at least several times a week for a long time. I was heartbroken making a milkshake for my husband and the blade came loose. It was tragic. My almost 30 year old trusted Vitamix has finally bitten the bullet. I mean, his most important part came right away! You can't mix without mixing a part. Mourning the loss of my car, I decided to quickly check the internet to see if this part could be replaced. I wasn't sure if the motor was fried or just the sprocket shown here. But for the price it was worth a try. In the end, I wasn't sure I could muster up $400 to immediately replace my Vitamix. A few days later, a very quick and easy "surgery" and my Vitamix is back in business! That works great. I can only hope to have another 30 years of this!
