The original abrasive pads do not specify a grit, so you will need to use common sense and look at the pads to determine their roughness. Do not use too much of the original 400 pad, it is necessary to start the process, but too much will leave scratches on the plastic that will need constant polishing over time with increasingly thin pads. It takes a little effort, but the finished work is worth it. Feel free to water, keep it well lubricated with water while it washes away old plastic and dirt. I just did it and I'm happy with the result. The last layer of spray makes it shine. Time will tell how well it holds up. I used a product from Meguires, Plastex or something else I think to finish the job and give it a crystal clear look.
