For decoration only; hurts as a real shoe

I've been buying these shoes for my kids every year for a couple of years (when they outgrow them). Quite happy with it. This year I decided to please the kids and bought a pair. Nice to see they also offer them in adult sizes! The kids never complained about their shoes, they said they were comfortable so I was shocked when I put mine on for the first time. I walked for a while and everything was fine, then I quickly ran across the street to avoid an oncoming car as I was crossing the street and OH! Have noticed that these shoes have NO padding or cushioning in the heel area AT ALL! My heels are very bruised and hurt the rest of the day. I kept forgetting not to walk in it and kept hurting my heels until the end of our walk. It's not like I ran a marathon or anything in them β€” I just walked the kids, showed off our shoes, and occasionally went for a light jog to cross the street or catch up with the kids who were running ahead . Ordinary household items. What hurts about these boots! I've had cheap shoes but never shoes that hurt me so much! Even the cheapest pair of flip flops offers the best cushioning. These shoes are like walking barefoot on concrete! They're huge for their size, so maybe I can get them a soft pad or something. Too bad, otherwise they still work great and get lots of compliments!
