This is the VA panel. Although I did a lot of research, I just didn't find out that VA panels use something called "subpixels". Essentially, these are miniature pixels next to full-size pixels. They do this to fit more pixels onto the screen and provide a better refresh rate. BUT that makes things that require pinpoint pixel precision look downright awful. This is most noticeable with text and desktop icons. Despite being a $300 1440p monitor, the text looked horribly pixelated and just plain bad, and the icons looked completely wrong, to the point where some pixels seemed completely missing. Problem with all VA panels. Don't get me wrong, the images looked fantastic and the 144Hz frequency was great. However, I use my computer for more than just gaming. And I certainly won't keep a $300 monitor if my $75 IPS monitor looks better. I was also a bit disappointed with the picture quality. I know it's not IPS and I compared it to IPS but no matter what I tried I couldn't get the images to look anywhere near like my $75 IPS monitor and the contrast and the Colors are IPS, which really made the pictures look a lot better. than the resolution boost that 1440p offers. I returned it and bought a LG 1440p 144hz IPS screen instead. I would wholeheartedly recommend everyone to look into a TN or IPS screen as the VA looks really terrible if you are doing anything other than gaming. I would absolutely say that for this price you get a high end 1080p 144Hz IPS screen. It'll look way better, you won't tax your GPU as much, and you won't sacrifice the extra resolution. If you need 1440p then go for LG, Viewsonic or something with a good IPS panel.
